A Successful day for KINDEE PASTORAL COMPANY!!

Roma Store Sale Summary Report July 24, 2012

NUMBERS rose significantly to 8500 head, as the drier conditions allowed movement of cattle from a wider area to the Roma Store Sale, on Tuesday.

The overall offering comprised 7700 steers and heifers, 600 dry cows, and 30 cows and calves.

With a good representation of buyers operating there was strong support for some of the larger lines of well presented cattle with values lifting a further 3c to 14c on last week's result.

However, due to the shear weight of numbers, the average price varied on the less quality lines.

A highlight of the sale was the annual offering of Ian and Jane Murray's, Kindee Pastoral Company's, performance-bred weaners trucked off their Injune and Taroom properties.

The line of 1063 Santa Shorthorn weaner cross steers (8-10 months) averaging 315kg topped at 240c/kg and averaged 231c/kg to return an average of $727/head.

Meanwhile, 595 Kindee Santa Shorthorn cross heifers averaging 286kg averaged 206c/kg to return $590/head.

Feeder steers in the 400 to 550kg range topping at 216c/kg and averaging 189c, steers in the 350 to 400kg topping at 235c/kg and averaging 197c/kg, steers in the 280 to 350kg range topping at 240c/kg and averaging 217c, steers in the 220 to 280kg topping at 241c/kg and averaging 219c/kg, while weaner steers up to 220kg topping at 224c/kg to average 205c/kg.

Heifers up to 220kg topped at 206c/kg and averaging 198c/kg, in the 220 to 280kg range made to 208c/kg and averaging 195c/kg, 280 to 350 kg topping at 212c and averaging 183c/kg, while the heavier cows topping at 208c and averaging 167c/kg.

Bulls up 400kg sold to a top of 194c/kg, while heavier bulls made to 182c/kg top money.
